Regular Season Round 8: Mamak - Antalya 85-80

There was no surprise in Ankara where 10th ranked Antalya (3-5) was defeated by seventh ranked Mamak (5-3) 85-80 on Monday. Mamak looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Marlain Veal (175-96, college: SE Louisiana) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists. The other American import center Chance Comanche (211-96, college: Arizona) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Five Mamak players scored in double figures. Mamak's coach Murat Dikmen used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Serbian power forward Dejan Borovnjak (207-86, agency: BeoBasket) produced 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Kemal Aktuna (-95) added 20 points respectively for the guests. Mamak moved-up to fifth place, which they share with OGM Orman and Manisa. Newly promoted Antalya keeps the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with TED Ankara and Final Spor. Mamak will meet at home Kagitspor (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Antalya will play against the league's leader Samsun (#1) and hope to secure a win.
