No shocking result in a game in Wildau where second ranked Aschersleben (8-3) defeated 10th ranked WSG Koenigs (4-7) 56-49 on Friday. They outrebounded WSG Koenigs 44-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for Christenvie Kwilu (197-0) who led his team to a victory scoring 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Leo Alban (198-99) helped adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. Center Oliver Mackeldanz (211-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and American Andrew Jones (191-83, college: Miles) scored 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Aschersleben. They maintain second place in North with 8-3 record behind leader Stuttgart, which they share with Vechta 2. Loser WSG Koenigs keep the tenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Bramsche. Aschersleben will meet at home Wolfenbuettel (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. WSG Koenigs will play against Goetting.ASC (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
