Regular Season Round 9: Dynamo-NPU - Budivelnyk 61-92

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kyiv: Budivelnyk (#2) and Dynamo-NPU (#8). Dynamo-NPU was crushed at home by 31 points 61-92 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Budivelnyk dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Dynamo-NPU's 30 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Dynamo-NPU 53-25 including a 37-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. The best player for the winners was point guard Arella Guirantes (180-97, college: Rutgers) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Guard Kristen Spolyar (178-97, college: Butler) chipped in 28 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. Budivelnyk's coach Inna Kochubei felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Keke Calloway (170-97, college: Mercer) who recorded 22 points and forward Kayla Mobley (180-90, college: Clayton St.) added 13 points respectively. The victory was the twelfth consecutive win for Budivelnyk. Newly promoted Budivelnyk maintains second place with 12-2 record behind leader Prometey. Dynamo-NPU lost their fifth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
