Regular Season Round 6: Beroe - Lokomotiv 103-49
Date: November 27, 2021
Bottom-ranked Lokomotiv (0-4) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their fourth consecutive match to second ranked Beroe (5-1) 103-49. Beroe dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Lokomotiv's 36. Beroe forced 24 Lokomotiv turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Lokomotiv's players. The former international forward Tsvetomira Sharenkapova (184-91) notched 24 points, 5 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and forward Yana Karamfilova (190-5) supported her with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Even 10 points and 6 rebounds by forward Gergana Tsekova (180-5) did not help to save the game for Lokomotiv. Reneta Dimitrova (-6) added 6 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Beroe have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 5-1 record behind leader Montana. Newly promoted Lokomotiv still closes the standings with four games lost. Beroe will play against league's leader Montana on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lokomotiv's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Sofia Champion 2006.
