Regular Season Round 6: Izmit - Botas A. 61-69

Botas A. has finally registered their first victory this season after five consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Izmit (3-3) on the road game in Kocaeli 69-61. Botas A. players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American Samoan-American guard Jazmine Davis (170-93, college: Washington) notched 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and international center Tilbe Senyurek (190-95) supported her with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Botas A. players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 17 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists by American center Kristina Higgins (196-94, college: Baylor) did not help to save the game for Izmit. Point guard Gulse Ugur (170-99) added 11 points. Botas A. (1-5) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place, which they share with Elazig. Izmit at the other side keeps the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Hatay and Antalya 07. Botas A. will play against higher ranked Ormanspor (#4) in Ankara in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Izmit will play on the road against Cankaya in Ankara and hopes to get back on the winning track.
