Regular Season Round 7: KOS - Towers 86-83

Sixth-ranked Towers (0-6) gave a tough game to third ranked KOS (5-2) in Celovec on Saturday. KOS managed to secure only three-point victory 86-83. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-83. KOS had a 20-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Slovenian forward Erik Groznik (201-0) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. Slovenian point guard Grega Sajevic (189-96) helped adding 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side Slovenian point guard Luka Bozak (187-0) responded with 24 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and Spanish guard Ignacio Trujillo (191-98) scored 26 points and 4 assists. Five KOS and four Towers players scored in double figures. KOS have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Lions and Blackbirds. Newly promoted Towers still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Future Team. KOS is looking forward to face Flames (#7) in Vienna in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Towers will play on the road against BBU in Salzburg and hope to get finally their first victory.
