The game between Top Four teams took place in Istanbul. 3rd placed host Darussafaka (5-2) lost to leader Gaziantep (7-0) 75-61. Gaziantep forced 19 Darussafaka turnovers. Strangely Darussafaka outrebounded Gaziantep 39-26 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for guard Koray Cekici (186-2) who led the winners and scored 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Baran Erisik (-3) accounted for 16 points for the winning side. Five Gaziantep players scored in double figures. Emre Akdumbek (-3) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and center Bora Yasar (206-3) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Darussafaka in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gaziantep maintains first place in League with 7-0 record. Darussafaka at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. Gaziantep will play against TED Ankara (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Darussafaka will play against Tofas in Bursa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
