Regular Season Round 7: TAC NEF - Anadolu Efes 104-105

Eighth-ranked TAC NEF (2-5) gave a tough game to leader Anadolu Efes (7-0) in Tarsus on Sunday. The visitors from Istanbul managed to secure only one-point victory 105-104. However their fans expected much easier game. Anadolu Efes dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to TAC NEF's 40 and made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Anadolu Efes forced 20 TAC NEF turnovers. Strangely TAC NEF outrebounded Anadolu Efes 43-28 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for naturalized Serbian forward Tolga Kay (193-4, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory scoring 37 points (!!!). Point guard Zekeriya Tekin (184-4) helped adding 24 points. Anadolu Efes' coach Sezai Mermi used entire bench in such tough game. At the losing side forward Emirali Gokturk (203-3) responded with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and Berkan Silindir (-1) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Anadolu Efes maintains first place in League with 7-0 record. TAC NEF at the other side keeps the eighth position with five games lost. Anadolu Efes are looking forward to face Yalovaspor (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TAC NEF will play against the league's second-placed Fenerbahce in Istanbul and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
