Rather expected game in Ankara where 5th ranked Turk Telekom (3-4) was defeated by third ranked Ozel Gelisim Koleji (5-2) 98-88 on Sunday. Ozel Gelisim Koleji forced 19 Turk Telekom turnovers. Strangely Turk Telekom outrebounded Ozel Gelisim Koleji 48-36 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Emre Girgin (-4, agency: BeoBasket) fired 24 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Center Arda Duraklar (205-4) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Batuhan Acar (179-2) produced 31 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Mevlut Dogan (201-3) added 15 points and 14 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Ozel Gelisim Koleji and five Turk Telekom players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ozel Gelisim Koleji maintains third place in League with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader Anadolu Efes. Loser Turk Telekom dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Ozel Gelisim Koleji will meet at home Galatasaray (#4) in the next round. Turk Telekom will play against Bursaspor and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
