Everything could happen in Zemun at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Mladost ZE and 9th ranked Metalac VL had identical 6-5 record. This time Mladost ZE used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Valjevo 109-64 on Friday night. The game without a history. Mladost ZE led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Metalac VL to just 7 points in third quarter. Mladost ZE dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Metalac VL's 34. They outrebounded Metalac VL 54-33 including a 37-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mladost ZE looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The winners were led by power forward Strahinja Gavrilovic (206-93, college: USC) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and forward Nikola Kovacevic (202-99) supported him with 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five Mladost ZE players scored in double figures. Even 26 points and 9 rebounds by center Milenko Veljkovic (217-95) did not help to save the game for Metalac VL. Forward Nikola Pavic (198) added 11 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mladost ZE (7-5) moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Metalac VL keeps the ninth position with six games lost. They share it with Zdravlje and Novi Pazar. Mladost ZE will meet bottom-ranked Slodes BG (#16) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Metalac VL will play against Sloga KR (#6) and hope to secure a win.
