Regular Season Round 9: Falcon - SISU 51-44

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Copenhagen: Falcon (#1) and SISU (#3). Falcon (6-0) won against visiting SISU (3-4) 51-44. SISU was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 16-4 charge of Falcon, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding SISU to just 4 points in fourth quarter. Falcon forced 21 SISU turnovers and outrebounded them 49-36 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for international power forward Emilie Hesseldal (185-90, college: Colorado St.) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 20 rebounds. International point guard Gritt Ryder (175-92, college: Colorado St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Falcon's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Helene Dalsgaard (185-99) answered with 8 points and 13 rebounds and international point guard Asta Blauenfeldt (168-2) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for SISU. Falcon have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Newly promoted Falcon maintains first place with 6-0 record. SISU at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Falcon are looking forward to face Herlev (#4) on the road in the next round. SISU will play against Aabyhoj and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
