Regular Season Round 11: Besiktas - Tofas 82-83

The most exciting game of round 11 in the BSL took place in Istanbul. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 8th ranked Besiktas (5-6) to seventh ranked Tofas (7-4) 83-82 on Saturday evening. It was a great shooting night for Tofas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Croatian forward Tomislav Zubcic (211-90) saved the victory by scoring 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Kasey Shepherd (189-94, college: La-Lafayette) contributed with 16 points for the winners. American forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (201-95, college: Arizona) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and Egehan Arna (202-97) added 20 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Besiktas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tofas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Galatasaray and Gaziantep. Besiktas lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Bursaspor. Tofas is looking forward to face higher ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Besiktas will play against Turk Telekom (#12) in Ankara and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
