Regular Season Round 12: Wusterhausen - Goetting.ASC 91-85

There was a minor upset in Wildau where 8th ranked Goetting.ASC (5-6) was defeated by tenth ranked WSG Koenigs (5-7) 91-85 on Saturday. WSG Koenigs dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Goetting.ASC's 38. They outrebounded Goetting.ASC 43-19 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of center Oliver Mackeldanz (211-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized French Souleymane Diallo (194-88) who added 22 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four WSG Koenigs players scored in double figures. WSG Koenigs' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was swingman Nick Boakye (197-95) with 27 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Philipp Sprung (195-94) scored 28 points. WSG Koenigs maintains tenth position in North with 5-7 record, which they share with Bramsche. Goetting.ASC lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with six games lost. WSG Koenigs will meet SG Braunschweig (#12) on the road in the next round. Goetting.ASC will play against Cuxhaven and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
