No shocking result in a game in Sao Joao where first ranked Esgueira (7-1) defeated 6th ranked Sanjoanense (2-6) 79-65 on Saturday. Esgueira looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Sanjoanense's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Sean Lloyd (196-96, college: SIU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward Corey Brown (202-97, college: Canisius) who added 21 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Esgueira players scored in double figures. Esgueira's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Jason Watts II (201-96, college: Lambton) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and forward Joao Ribeiro (190-93) scored 22 points. Esgueira have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record, which they share with Barreirense. Sanjoanense lost fourth consecutive game.
