There was no surprise in Bochum where 10th ranked SparkassenStars (5-6) were crushed by third ranked Seawolves (9-2) 108-88 on Saturday. Seawolves made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 SparkassenStars turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Jordan Roland (185-97, college: Northeastern) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 7 steals (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and point guard Chris Carter (193-92, college: Florida Tech) who added 11 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Four Seawolves players scored in double figures. Seawolves' coach Christian Held used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was forward Dominic Green (198-97, college: Washington) with 26 points and 7 rebounds and guard Tony Hicks (186-94, college: Louisville, agency: GoEmpire Group) scored 25 points and 7 assists. Seawolves have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Newly promoted SparkassenStars dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. Seawolves will meet at home Gladiators (#5) in the next round. SparkassenStars will play against Falcons (#9) in Nuernberg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
