Regular Season Round 9: Heidelberg - Goettingen 80-96

Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (4-6) was defeated at home by tenth ranked BG Goettingen (5-3) 96-80 on Saturday. BG Goettingen made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was swingman Jake Toolson (196-96, college: BYU) who scored 19 points and 4 assists. Guard Kamar Baldwin (185-97, college: Butler) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Brekkott Chapman (206-96, college: Weber St.) who recorded 26 points and 7 rebounds and guard Robert Lowery (188-87, college: Dayton) added 11 points and 7 assists respectively. Five BG Goettingen and four MLP Academics Heidelberg players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BG Goettingen moved-up to sixth place. MLP Academics Heidelberg lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with six games lost. BG Goettingen will meet at home MBC (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. MLP Academics Heidelberg will play against the league's second-placed Telekom Baskets in Bonn and hope to secure a win.
