Very predictable result when fifth ranked LSU-Atletas (10-7) won against 13th ranked Neptunas-Akv. (4-13) in Kaunas 97-92 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. LSU-Atletas made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Point guard Karolis Babkauskas (185-91, agency: BIG) notched 23 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and the former international Martynas Linkevicius (197-85, agency: BIG) supported him with 10 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists by center Oskaras Pleikys (202-1, agency: BIG) did not help to save the game for Neptunas-Akv.. Lukas Kreismontas (197-1) added 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Neptunas-Akv.'s coach Simonas Serapinas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted LSU-Atletas maintains fifth position with 10-7 record. Neptunas-Akv. lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 13 games lost. LSU-Atletas will meet at home Silute (#7) in the next round. Neptunas-Akv. will play against Vilnius (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
