Regular Season Round 6: Rilski - Balkan 85-73

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Rilski as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Rilski defeated 3rd ranked Balkan in Samokov 85-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Balkan. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for point guard Brandon Brown (180-91, college: LMU) who led his team to a victory with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Trey Porter (208-96, college: Nevada) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Rilski's coach Ludmil Hadjisotirov used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Travin Thibodeaux (203-96, college: New Orleans) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and guard Kahlil Dukes (183-95, college: Niagara) added 20 points and 5 assists in the effort for Balkan. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rilski (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Balkan at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. Balkan will play next round against strong Chernomorets trying to get back on the winning streak. Rilski will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Cherno More in Varna.
