Regular Season Round 10: CDEFF - Vagos 65-67

Eighth-ranked CDEFF (3-7) gave a tough game to third ranked Vagos (8-2) on Saturday. The visitors from Vagos managed to secure only two-point victory 67-65. However their fans expected much easier game. Americans were the main players on the court. Devon Brookshire (190-94, college: St.Mary's, CA, agency: DC Sports) scored 18 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Martha Burse (168-96, college: Indianapolis, agency: Whitecox Lyons SM) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Vagos players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Kate Andersen (175-97, college: Portland) responded with 23 points and 9 rebounds and forward Dayna Rouse (183, college: Longwood) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Vagos moved-up to second place. Newly promoted CDEFF keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Vitoria SC. Vagos are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Guifoes (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CDEFF will play against CAB Madeira (#7) in Funchal and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
