Regular Season Round 10: Sibiu - Galati 96-73

Bottom-ranked Galati (0-9) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 96-73 loss to fourteenth ranked Sibiu (3-7) in Sibiu. The game was mostly controlled by Sibiu. Galati was better in fourth quarter 25-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian Justas Tamulis (196-94) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 7 rebounds. International point guard Lucas Tohatan (187-99) contributed with 15 points and 8 assists for the winners. Five Sibiu players scored in double figures. Sibiu's coach Dan Fleseriu felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Christopher Galbreath (201-95, college: SHSU) replied with 23 points and the former international Marius Ciotlaus (195-96, agency: BIG) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Galati. Sibiu moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Focsani. Galati at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. Sibiu will play against Rapid (#14) in Bucuresti in the next round. Galati will play at home against Timisoara and hopes to get finally their first victory.
