There was no surprise when 4th ranked Leverkusen 2 (7-5) was crushed on the road by first ranked Herford (11-1) 104-54 on Saturday. Herford dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Leverkusen 2's 26. Herford forced 22 Leverkusen 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 50-36 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Leverkusen 2's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian forward Dainius Zvinklys (203-90) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 9 rebounds and guard Omar Zemhoute (194-91) who added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Four Herford players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Michel Vollberg (200-0) with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Soeren Queck scored 7 points and 5 rebounds. Leverkusen 2's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Herford have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position in West with 11-1 record. Loser Leverkusen 2 keeps the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with Recklinghausen and Bonn 2.
