There was an upset when higher ranked VKM (5-3) lost on the road to ninth ranked Panevezio (3-5) 72-63 on Sunday. VKM was trailing by 11 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 20-10 charge of Panevezio, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by Vilhelmas Tallat-Kelpsa (-4) who scored that evening 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and Nikas Stuknys (-5) supported him with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Even a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds by forward Danielius Kasparas (198-4) did not help to save the game for VKM. Point guard Gedas Jucius (173-4) added 18 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Panevezio moved-up to seventh place, which they share with SKM II. VKM lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Tornado KM and ASRC. Panevezio will meet Zalgiris I (#10) in the next round. VKM will play against the league's second-placed Zalgiris II (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
