Regular Season Round 8: KKM I - Tornado KM 93-92

KKM I's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after six consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they edged much higher ranked Tornado KM (5-3) 93-92 on Sunday. KKM I made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Tornado KM outrebounded KKM I 45-30 including a 18-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by swingman Laurynas Vitosis (192-4) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Emilis Maziliauskas (192-4) supported him with 30 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Even 24 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists by Nojus Adomavicius (189-4) did not help to save the game for Tornado KM. Guard Marius Mazeika (188-5) added 24 points for the guests. Tornado KM's coach Donatas Mikulevicius rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. KKM I (1-6) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place, which they share with RasKKSC. Loser Tornado KM dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with VKM and ASRC. KKM I will meet higher ranked Saule (#9) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tornado KM will play against SKM II (#8) and hope to secure a win.
