Regular Season Round 10: Bonn - Heidelberg 87-70

There was no surprise in Bonn where 12th ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (4-7) was defeated by second ranked Telekom Baskets (8-2) 87-70 on Friday. Telekom Baskets made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 MLP Academics Heidelberg turnovers. Telekom Baskets looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. International forward Michael Kessens (206-91, college: FIU) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Skyler Bowlin (190-89, college: MSSU) chipped in 24 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side American guard Jordan Geist (188-97, college: Missouri, agency: Inception Sports) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Shyron Ely (194-87, college: Evansville, agency: Slash Sports) scored 12 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Telekom Baskets have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 8-2 record behind leader Bayern. MLP Academics Heidelberg lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth place with seven games lost. Telekom Baskets will meet 46ers (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. MLP Academics Heidelberg will play against ALBA Berlin and hope to secure a win.
