Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Giessen Pointers (7-4) won against at home 9th ranked Kaiserslautern (4-7) 81-72 on Friday. American guard Christopher Miller (192-93, college: Salem) stepped up and scored 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and point guard Paul Carl (185-2) chipped in 18 points. Giessen Pointers' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Mathias Groh (204-2) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks and American point guard Joseph Feraci (180, college: LSUA) scored 19 points. Four Kaiserslautern players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Giessen Pointers. They moved-up to third place in South West, which they share with Kronberg. Loser Kaiserslautern keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. They share it with Langen and Limburg. Giessen Pointers will meet at home Tuebingen 2 (#5) in the next round. Kaiserslautern will have a break next round.
