Regular Season Round 11: Interkhim - Kyiv Basket 60-80

An interesting game for Kyiv Basket (13-3) which played road game in Odessa against 4th placed Interkhim (8-8). Third ranked Kyiv Basket had an easy win 80-60. The game without a history. Kyiv Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Kyiv Basket outrebounded Interkhim 43-29 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American center Ciera Johnson (190-97, college: Texas A&M) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Ieshia Small (170-94, college: Maryland) accounted for 11 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side. Four Kyiv Basket players scored in double figures. The former international forward Olesia Malashenko (191-91) came up with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international swingman Nataliya Skorbatyuk (182-95, agency: BIG) added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Interkhim in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kyiv Basket moved-up to second place. Loser Interkhim keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Kyiv Basket will meet at home Chaika (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Interkhim will have a break next round.
