Regular Season Round 13: Saarlouis - Kronberg 97-82

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 3rd placed Kronberg's (7-4) road loss to second ranked Saarlouis (8-2) 82-97 on Saturday. Saarlouis shot 64.3 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. American guard TJ Lang (201-95, college: S.Florida) stepped up and scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and his fellow American import guard Ricky Easterling (189-83, college: Bridgewater) chipped in 23 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Lang is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side guard Yannick Schicktanz (186-90) responded with 10 points and 9 assists and Daniel Medo (197-95) scored 18 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Five Saarlouis and four Kronberg players scored in double figures. Kronberg's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Saarlouis. They maintain second place in South West with 8-2 record having four points less than leader Stuttgart. Loser Kronberg keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with Giessen. Saarlouis will meet Fellbach (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Kronberg will play against Mannheim (#12) and hope to secure a win.
