Regular Season Round 9: Tornado KM - SKM II 61-71

There was a small surprise in Kaunas where eighth ranked SKM II (4-5) defeated 6th ranked Tornado KM (5-4) 71-61. Tornado KM was ahead by 2 points after three quarters before a 21-9 charge of SKM II, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 23 Tornado KM turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Swingman Mantas Janciauskas (193-4) nailed a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Nojus Krulikauskas (174-4) accounted for 15 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. SKM II's coach Rokas Kasparavicius allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Sarunas Morkevicius (181-4) came up with 13 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Augustas Gudelevicius (192-4) added 14 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for Tornado KM in the defeat. Four Tornado KM players scored in double figures. SKM II moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Panevezio. Tornado KM at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with VKM and ASRC. SKM II will play against Saule (#9) in Siauliai in the next round. Tornado KM will play on the road against SKM I (#3) in Vilniaus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
