Regular Season Round 9: VKKM - ASRC 103-61

The game between Top Four teams took place in Vilniaus. Leader host VKKM (8-0) smashed 4th placed ASRC (5-4) 103-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of ASRC. The game was mostly controlled by VKKM. ASRC managed to win second period 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to ASRC's 34. VKKM forced 19 ASRC turnovers and outrebounded them 50-35 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. Kristupas Keinys (199-4) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and point guard Arnas Knystautas (186-4) chipped in 15 points and 10 assists. Four VKKM players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Nojus Lebskas (197-4) with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Saimonas Jeremicius (195-4) scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. VKKM have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. ASRC at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with VKM and Tornado KM. VKKM's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Vilniaus VKM.
