There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Sportist Svoge (6-3) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Balkan 2 (6-4) 78-70 on Tuesday. Balkan 2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Aleksandar Gavalyugov (185-6) scored 22 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Denislav Vutev (208-94) chipped in 12 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four Balkan 2 players scored in double figures. Balkan 2's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American point guard Jimmie Hunt (188-82, college: FPU, agency: Interperformances) responded with 27 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international center Ivan Tilev (204-79) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. Balkan 2 moved-up to fifth place in A. Loser Sportist Svoge keeps the fourth position with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
