Regular Season Round 21: Gargzdu - Palanga 88-67

NKL top team - Gargzdu (17-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Palanga (9-12) in Gargzdai 88-67. Gargzdu made 28-of-32 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game, while Palanga only scored six points from the stripe. Palanga was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Marius Runkauskas (186-86, agency: BIG) stepped up and scored 27 points for the winners and center Simas Galdikas (203-87) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Gargzdu players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard DJ Hanes (185-95, college: Nebraska Chr., agency: One Motive Sports) with 27 points and Tadas Kararinas (208-98, college: Drexel) scored 10 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gargzdu maintains first place with 17-4 record. Palanga at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. Gargzdu will play against Mazeikiai (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Palanga will play against LSU-Atletas and hopes to get back on the winning track.
