Regular Season Round 11: Triglav - Maribor 71-51

There was no surprise in Kranj where 6th ranked Maribor (4-5) was crushed by second ranked Triglav (9-1) 71-51. The game was mostly controlled by Triglav. Maribor was better in third quarter 22-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Maribor to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Triglav forced 28 Maribor turnovers and outrebounded them 42-20 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Maribor's players. Point guard Gala Kramzar (180-99) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 5 assists. Center Lara Bubnic (190-99) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. International power forward Merisa Dautovic (186-99) answered with 12 points and 4 steals and forward Tiana Meglic (180-3) added 7 points and 4 assists in the effort for Maribor. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Triglav maintains second place with 9-1 record behind leader Celje. Maribor at the other side keeps the sixth position with five games lost. Triglav will play against Grosbasket (#3) in Grosuplje in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Maribor will play at home against Konjice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
