Very expected game when 14th ranked 46ers (3-8) lost to second ranked Telekom Baskets (9-2) in Giessen 95-103 on Saturday. Telekom Baskets made 33-of-43 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game, while 46ers only scored sixteen points from the stripe. Telekom Baskets looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for international forward Michael Kessens (206-91, college: FIU) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American point guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright (176-95, college: Arizona) accounted for 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Four Telekom Baskets players scored in double figures. American-South Sudanese Nuni Omot (206-94, college: Baylor) came up with 26 points and 6 rebounds and Florian Koch (197-92) added 23 points and 6 rebounds respectively for 46ers in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Telekom Baskets. They maintain second place with 9-2 record behind leader Bayern. 46ers lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fifteenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Wuerzburg. Telekom Baskets will meet Bayreuth (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. 46ers will play against Braunschweig (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
