Regular Season Round 8: Chernomorets - Cherno More 91-70

No shocking result in a game in Burgas where second ranked Chernomorets (7-1) smashed 9th ranked Cherno More (1-8) 91-70 on Saturday. Chernomorets dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Cherno More's 32 and made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Chernomorets forced 19 Cherno More turnovers and outrebounded them 40-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Wendell Lewis (208-89, college: Alabama St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and forward Georgi Boyanov (201-93, college: USA) who added 19 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Guard Martin Kotsev (195-98, agency: BIG) responded with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and power forward Martin Jordanov (207-2) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Cherno More players scored in double figures. Cherno More's coach Daniel Klechkov gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Chernomorets have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-1 record behind leader Rilski. Cherno More lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with eight games lost. Chernomorets will meet league's leader Rilski in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cherno More will play against Shumen (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
