Rather predictable result when fourth ranked BG Goettingen (7-3) won against at home 7th ranked Crailsheim Merlins (6-5) 83-76 on Saturday. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for guard Kamar Baldwin (185-97, college: Butler) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Forward Jeff Roberson (198-96, college: Vanderbilt) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four BG Goettingen players scored in double figures. Point guard TJ Shorts (175-97, college: UC Davis) came up with 28 points and 8 assists and forward Jaren Lewis (198-96, college: ACU) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Crailsheim Merlins in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for BG Goettingen. They moved-up to third place. Loser Crailsheim Merlins dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. BG Goettingen will meet Chemnitz (#7) on the road in the next round. Crailsheim Merlins will play against ALBA Berlin and hope to secure a win.
