Regular Season Round 14: Vechta - Art.Dragons 91-86

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifteenth ranked Rasta Vechta (5-9) won against at home 14th ranked Artland Dragons (4-8) 91-86. Rasta Vechta made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Rasta Vechta outrebounded Artland Dragons 37-26 including 24 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American center Devin Searcy (208-89, college: Dayton) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import swingman Preston Purifoy (196-92, college: UAB, agency: Players Group) supported him with 26 points. Rasta Vechta's coach Vladimir Lucic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds by Czech center Adam Pechacek (206-95) did not help to save the game for Artland Dragons. Adrian Breitlauch (193-93) added 20 points and 4 steals for the guests. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Rasta Vechta moved-up to fourteenth place. Artland Dragons at the other side dropped to the fifteenth position with eight games lost. Rasta Vechta will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Artland Dragons will play at home against Uni Baskets (#8) and hope to get back on the winning track.
