Regular Season Round 14: Hagen - Tuebingen 81-87

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Tigers (10-3) beat on the road 13th ranked Phoenix Hagen (5-8) 87-81. Tigers players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American forward Ryan Mikesell (201-96, college: Dayton) notched 25 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and the other American import Isaiah Crawley (201-98, college: Georgia South) supported him with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 16 points and 5 rebounds by Dominik Spohr (198-89) did not help to save the game for Phoenix Hagen. Center Marcel Kessen (207-97) added 12 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tigers maintains third position with 10-3 record behind leader Jena. Phoenix Hagen at the other side dropped to the twelfth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Bochum. Tigers will play against Schwenningen (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Phoenix Hagen will play against SparkassenStars in Bochum and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
