There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Leverkusen (8-5) defeated on the road 4th ranked Kirchheim Knights (8-6) 83-78. Leverkusen forced 20 Kirchheim Knights turnovers. Strangely Kirchheim Knights outrebounded Leverkusen 36-19 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Spencer Reaves (191-95, college: Central Mo., agency: One Motive Sports) notched 17 points, 9 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and guard Quentin Goodin (193-97, college: Xavier) supported him with 16 points. Leverkusen's coach Hans-Juergen Gnad allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) by forward Jonathon Williams (198-90, college: Wagner, agency: Players Group) did not help to save the game for Kirchheim Knights. Guard Rohndell Goodwin (195-91, college: Chaminade, agency: Players Group) added 16 points for the hosts. Five Kirchheim Knights players scored in double figures. Leverkusen moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Nuernberg. Kirchheim Knights at the other side dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Leverkusen will play against Gladiators (#7) in Trier in the next round. Kirchheim Knights will play on the road against Falcons in Nuernberg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
