Leader Fenerbahce delivered the twelfth victory on Sunday night. This time they beat 7th ranked Tofas (7-6) 82-72 in Istanbul. Fenerbahce looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Czech center Jan Vesely (213-90, agency: BeoBasket) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American-Senegalese point guard Pierria Henry (193-93, college: Charlotte) chipped in 14 points and 6 assists. At the losing side Mexican Francisco Cruz (191-89, college: Wyoming) responded with 16 points and international point guard Berk Ugurlu (192-96) scored 12 points and 6 assists. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fenerbahce (12-1) have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place. Loser Tofas keeps the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Besiktas. Fenerbahce will meet Turk Telekom (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tofas will play against Galatasaray and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
