Regular Season Round 13: Yalova - Petkim 65-92

Bottom-ranked Socar Petkim managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of seven consecutive losses. This time they outleveled twelfth-ranked Yalova 92-65. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 27-point difference proves that Socar Petkim was well-prepared to that game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American Sean Armand (193-91, college: Iona, agency: Slash Sports) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 9 assists. His fellow American import forward Daniel Hamilton (201-95, college: UConn) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Socar Petkim's coach Can Sevim felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international Ilkan Karaman (205-90, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Slovenian point guard Luka Rupnik (186-93) added 11 points and 8 assists in the effort for Yalova. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Socar Petkim maintains sixteenth place with 2-11 record. Newly promoted Yalova keeps the twelfth position with nine games lost. They share it with Merkezefendi. Socar Petkim will play against higher ranked Merkezefendi (#13) in Denizl in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Yalova will play on the road against Acibadem in Istanbul and hopes to get back on the winning track.
