Regular Season Round 15: Rostock - Jena 94-81

The biggest surprise took place in Rostock where host Seawolves (12-2) beat league's leader Science City Jena (11-2) 94-81 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Science City Jena. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Seawolves looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Jordan Roland (185-97, college: Northeastern) who scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. The former international Sid-Marlon Theis (204-93) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. Four Seawolves players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Julius Wolf (203-93) who recorded 19 points and 9 rebounds and American point guard Rayshawn Simmons (192-93, college: CMU) added 14 points and 6 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Seawolves have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Science City Jena at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Rostock. Science City Jena will play next round against strong Tigers trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Seawolves will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Lions in Karlsruhe.
