We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Nuernberg where 5th ranked Falcons (8-6) were crushed by sixth ranked Kirchheim Knights (9-6) 93-71 on Thursday. Kirchheim Knights made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Kirchheim Knights outrebounded Falcons 32-20 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. It was a great evening for guard Rohndell Goodwin (195-91, college: Chaminade, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Jonathon Williams (198-90, college: Wagner, agency: Players Group) helped adding 19 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was swingman AJ Davis (206-95, college: UCF) with 20 points and 6 rebounds and guard Evan Taylor (196-96, college: Nebraska) scored 13 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kirchheim Knights moved-up to fifth place. Loser Falcons dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Kirchheim Knights will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Falcons will play against Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#11) and hope to secure a win.
