Liga Nationala top team - Arad (11-1) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they beat ninth ranked CSM Targoviste (3-8) 71-55. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Arad's pressure prevailed and they won that period 20-11 extending their advantage to 16 points. They made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Arad forced 20 CSM Targoviste turnovers. Worth to mention a quality performance of naturalized Cypriot guard Veatriki Akathiotou (166-95) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Serbian guard Brankica Hadzovic (175-81) who added 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Arad players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international Gabriela Irimia (183-90) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and the former international guard Ancuta Stoenescu (175-80) scored 17 points and 6 assists. Arad maintains first position with 11-1 record. CSM Targoviste at the other side keeps the ninth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Agronomia. Arad are looking forward to face Alexandria (#4) at home in the next round. CSM Targoviste will play against Brasov (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
