Regular Season Round 14: Edremit - Adana 79-58

Not a big story in a game in Balikesir where 11th ranked Adana (5-9) was outplayed by fourth ranked Edremit (10-3) 79-58 on Saturday. It was a great shooting night for Edremit especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Mikayla Cowling (188-96, college: California, agency: LBM Management) had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and forward Ebru Torun (175-87) chipped in 20 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Edremit players scored in double figures. American-Nigerian power forward Ashley Ezeh (191-92, college: Texas St.) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and Gamze Dulegoz (-96) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Edremit have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Edremit maintains fourth position with 10-3 record. Loser Adana dropped to the twelfth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Urla and Antalya. Edremit will meet higher ranked Mersin (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Adana will play against Bodrum (#15) and hope to secure a win.
