Rather expected game when 14th ranked Artland Dragons (5-10) were edged on the road by twelfth ranked Phoenix Hagen (7-8) 95-94 on Sunday. Phoenix Hagen looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard CJ Walker (185-97, college: Ohio St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 assists and center Marcel Kessen (207-97) who added 24 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side naturalized American point guard Zachary Ensminger (195-1) responded with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and American guard Demetrius Ward (188-90, college: W.Michigan) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Phoenix Hagen moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Artland Dragons dropped to the fifteenth position with ten games lost. Phoenix Hagen will meet bottom-ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (#17) in the next round where they are favorite. Artland Dragons will play against Lions and hope to secure a win.
