Regular Season Round 16: Jena - Tuebingen 98-85

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Science City Jena as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Science City Jena defeated 3rd ranked Tigers at home 98-85. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Tigers. Science City Jena players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Tigers were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Julius Wolf (203-93) who helped to win the game recording 36 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. American point guard Rayshawn Simmons (192-93, college: CMU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Five Science City Jena players scored in double figures. Naturalized Croatian Mateo Seric (204-99) replied with 23 points and 9 rebounds and center Daniel Keppeler (204-97, college: Regnitztal) added 10 points and 4 assists in the effort for Tigers. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Tigers at the other side keep the third place with four games lost. Tigers will play next round against Gladiators trying to get back on the winning streak. Science City Jena will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked Rasta Vechta at home.
