Regular Season Round 15: Botas GA - Tarsus 81-64

Very expected game when 10th ranked Tarsus (6-9) lost to second ranked Botas GA (13-2) in Ankara 64-81 on Sunday. Botas GA made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Botas GA outrebounded Tarsus 50-33 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Ukrainian center Olena Stashchuk (192-85) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 20 rebounds and 5 blocks. Saliha Mandiraci (169-2) accounted for 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winning side. Botas GA's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Sharon Houston (191-88, college: IU Northwest) came up with 18 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Ezgi Manlaci (177-96) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Tarsus in the defeat. Four Botas GA and five Tarsus players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Botas GA. They maintain second place with 13-2 record having just two points less than leader Emlak. Newly promoted Tarsus keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Botas GA will meet at home Urla (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Tarsus will play against Yalova Vip and hope to secure a win.
