Very predictable result in Quakenbrueck where eighth ranked Lions (9-6) defeated 15th ranked Artland Dragons (5-11) 88-84 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American guard Stanley Whittaker (183-94, college: Keiser) who scored 19 points and 8 assists. Ferdinand Zylka (191-98) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists. Lions' coach Aleksandar Scepanovic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Czech center Adam Pechacek (206-95) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized American point guard Zachary Ensminger (195-1) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for the hosts. Five Lions and four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Lions have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place. Artland Dragons lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 11 games lost. Lions will meet at home Eagles (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Artland Dragons will play against Falcons and hope to secure a win.
