Regular Season Round 15: Goettingen - Braunschweig 85-93

There was an upset when higher ranked BG Goettingen (9-4) lost at home to twelfth ranked Braunschweig (6-8) 93-85 on Sunday. Braunschweig dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to BG Goettingen's 24. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Czech point guard Ondrej Sehnal (196-97) who led the winners and scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Canadian power forward Owen Klassen (208-91, college: Acadia) accounted for 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Braunschweig's coach Jesus Ramirez used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Kamar Baldwin (185-97, college: Butler) came up with 20 points and 4 assists and the other American import point guard Stephen Brown Jr (180-96, college: Bucknell) added 12 points and 9 assists respectively for BG Goettingen in the defeat. Braunschweig moved-up to eleventh place. Loser BG Goettingen keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Braunschweig will meet at home higher ranked ALBA Berlin (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BG Goettingen will play against 46ers in Giessen and hope to secure a win.
