Very predictable result in Istanbul where sixth ranked Galatasaray (10-5) defeated 11th ranked Turk Telekom (5-10) 88-71 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American guard Melo Trimble (190-95, college: Maryland, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 27 points. His fellow American import forward Kerry Blackshear Jr (208-97, college: Florida) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American JaJuan Johnson (208-89, college: Purdue) who recorded 18 points and 6 rebounds and Mexican point guard Alexander Perez-Kaufmann (191-93) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Galatasaray have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Turk Telekom dropped to the twelfth position with ten games lost. Galatasaray will meet at home Buyukcekmece (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Turk Telekom will play against Tofas in Bursa and hope to secure a win.
